Dr. Hetal Patel is passionate about helping people see their best. She completed her undergraduate degree in Honors Biomedical Science with a minor in Biology at the University of Waterloo. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.

During her training, Dr. Patel gained valuable experience at various clinics across the U.S., where she focused on treating eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She also completed a specialized rotation in contact lenses and corneal care in Florida, and worked closely with eye surgeons in New Jersey and Connecticut to deepen her expertise in managing complex eye diseases. Dr. Patel further enhanced her skills in children’s vision and vision therapy at clinics in Chicago, where she worked with kids and patients with special needs.

Dr. Patel is licensed to practice Optometry and is certified to prescribe medications for eye conditions. She has also contributed to the Optometry community by serving as a clinical examiner for the national board exams in Canada.

She is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the College of Optometrists of Ontario.

Giving back is important to Dr. Patel—she has provided eye care on a mission trip to Paraguay and has volunteered at inner-city schools in Toronto, offering eye exams to children in need.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Patel enjoys yoga, running, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you take care of your eyes!
